Michelle Crouch

Freelance Writer - health, parenting, personal finance and more

I'm an award-winning writer and a former newspaper reporter with more than 20 years of experience writing for some of the nation's top publications. I have a special interest in writing about health care, but editors also turn to me when they need someone who can dig deep for surprising insight or advice on any subject. My national credits include: Reader’s Digest, Parents, Real Simple, Prevention, Dr. Oz The Good Life, Parenting, AARP, More, CreditCards.com, The Washington Post and The New York Times. As a long-time contributing editor at Reader’s Digest, I authored dozens of so-called “secrets” stories covering subjects ranging from airline pilots to convicted burglars. Two favorites: “50 secrets a surgeon won’t tell you” and “50 secrets a waiter won’t tell you.” I write regularly for North Carolina Health News and The Charlotte Ledger. I also contribute to several Scholastic classroom magazines and to Wells Fargo's consumer-facing publications. Other corporate clients have included TIAA, Fidelity, Brighthouse Financial, USAA, Honda, WalMart and Harris Teeter.

Kelley Guiney

Technical writer, storyteller, content designer, content strategist, project manager

I'm a technical writer and content designer with a background in HTML and XML publishing, headless and conventional CMS, Markdown, GitHub, proprietary platforms and DITA. My recent experience includes startup content design, privacy regulatory technical writing at Microsoft and content development and production for Meta's HR portal and knowledge base. Before that I worked with engineers and product managers to create, improve and produce Azure web troubleshooting and Azure portal self-help content. In that role I helped develop and implement a content improvement process that saved $2.5 million on support costs during its first month of operation. I also served as our team's QA specialist, performing a final review of content before it went live. My extensive experience at Microsoft includes developing and improving help center, support, how-to and privacy content for products including Windows 10, Office, Outlook.com, Skype, Azure, Surface and hardware troubleshooting. I wrote and project managed international privacy regulatory content (Data Protection Impact Assessments, or DPIAs) to document Windows product compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I also wrote and managed the publishing process for the privacy disclosure articles for the original release of Windows 10. My previous writing credits include developing content for multiple award-winning and critically-acclaimed websites such as Seattle's music museum Experience Music Project and the PBS companion website to the Martin Scorsese film series The Blues. Clips include customer success stories, travel features, and interviews. My credits also include serving as staff writer and lead editor for the widely read Seattle-based green living magazine EcoVision Journal and real estate features for the Seattle Times. For several years I was MSN and Bing's highest performing freelance writer in the country, developing concise, compelling feature content to host ads for global brands; our clients included Lexus, Toyota, Hummer, Ford, Benadryl and Kraft. I also served as managing editor for a website partnership between MSN and Dove as part of Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. In this role I managed six writers on a three-week publishing schedule for original content in the US and repurposed content for markets in Mexico, Canada and Brazil. When MSN's Creative Director handed me the Dove managing editor project he said, "You work SO HARD. Everything you turn in is the absolute best possible quality it can be. You're so much more than a writer." You can reach me at 206-914-3530 or at [email protected]

Catey Miller

Writer, Editor, Ponderer

I'm a writer and editor with diverse experience across academic, literary, and marketing settings. I'm passionate about clear and accessible writing (with a special fondness for the Oxford comma), critical thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning—plus dogs and great TV. My editing experience encompasses everything from blog articles to lead nurturing email campaigns to web copy to novel manuscripts. I'm well versed in both Chicago and AP styles. Most recently I was Senior Editor and then Manager of Editing at a digital marketing agency, and the samples showing work below are from that time. As a writer, I've produced work ranging from experimental short stories to in-depth feature articles to brief, informative blog posts. In 2025, I completed an MA in theology, which further developed my ability to engage with and express complex, often deeply personal ideas. Studying and writing about theology has taught me to approach challenging topics with sensitivity, respect, and curiosity. I received my MFA in creative writing (fiction) in 2015 and have published several short stories and articles in publications including Ruminate and Slate.

Jennifer Perez-Harris

content strategist | UX writer | content writer

Hey there--I’m Jennifer Perez-Harris. I tell stories with systems and systems with stories. Translation? I make complicated products feel simple, usable, and human. I’ve written for Fortune 100 tech giants, health startups with everything on the line, and now I’m building AI-driven content frameworks that truly scale. My through-line: clarity, every single time. Here’s how I work: Start with people. Not personas on a slide, but actual humans struggling (or succeeding!) with a flow. Design with systems. Patterns, frameworks, and guidelines that keep teams aligned long after I’ve logged off. Scale with clarity. Content that feels obvious--in the best way. I help people understand technology, and technology understand people.
