Content Writer
I am a writer and communications specialist with 9 years of experience. Hailing from Appalachia, I pride myself on being a natural-born storyteller. Through my experiences of living, working, and traveling abroad I've developed an engaging and digestible tone across cultures and audiences. My professional specialties are balanced between acting as an outward-facing company representative to writing evergreen content, thought pieces, on-the-pulse news, social media copy and email campaigns. When it comes to editing, I can maintain an existing tone or breathe in a fresh one. Beyond being a wordsmith, I am a wanderer who colors outside the lines. I thrive in lively cities yet enjoy the serenity of an enduring hike in the hills. Observing cultures and indulging in food alight my spirit, but my idea of fun is little more than a good conversation over a dark beer.

The U.S. Holocaust Museum biographies lack a byline , they were edited by Museum editors and historians before posting, but I created the first drafts by interviews (none of the survivors had previously formally donated testimony) and fact-checking historical resources. Drop me a line for any reason at [email protected].

Chef / Author / Educator
I've been cooking, baking, teaching, and writing about food for over twenty years. I focus on desserts and culinary travel, so, fortunately, my work is never done. My classes (usually in Boston or the Berkshires) cover classic French techniques, local markets, and sustainable food policy. This portfolio is an archive of my articles, reviews, and recipes, including pieces about my cookbooks, CHOCOLATE BLISS (Random House/Celestial Arts, 2008), HAND-CRAFTED CANDY BARS (with Susan Heeger; Chronicle, 2013), and A BAKER'S PASSPORT (Amazon, February 2019). The blog FoodMarketGypsy.com chronicles my adventures and won the International Association of Culinary Professionals Digital Media Award in 2016. In other writing realms, I have served as a television executive and a grant writer. I look for collaborations on story concepts, familiarity trips, reviews, junkets, and those who share the philosophy that baking and breaking bread are important, humorous, and life-affirming pursuits.

Contributing Writer, Heaviest of Art
I'm the after-dark representative of musical academics, an amateur wilderness tourist, and a full-time gaming fanatic constantly searching for a new physical object to punish when I lose at Rocket League. Hunting publishing for three full-length novels, watching bands destroy stages in the evening, and up early the next day to build closets, kitchens, and dreams, one Swedish meatball at a time.
