Hi, I'm John. I'm a freelance journalist in Green Bay, Wisconsin who writes about environmental issues, business developments, local government, community issues, music, art, and politics. I have reported on breaking labor news, the politics of a prominent Midwest gas station chain, the intimacy of food in the face of a global pandemic, and interviewed multiple New York Times Bestselling authors. I enjoy finding odd facts, digging through public records, and gathering important details to provide a clear picture of a story. In August 2021, I was selected as the Founding Editor of Green Bay City Pages, a print and digital newspaper covering arts and entertainment in the greater Green Bay area. In this role, I copyedited freelance and staff content on a daily basis, was responsible for approving layout and design for a weekly print product, managed a team of over 12 freelance writers and two staff writers, published daily content on WordPress website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and MailChimp, and fielded editorial pitches, inquires, letters and concerns from community members and writers. My work has appeared in the Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting, Great Lakes Now - Detroit Public Television, UpNorthNews, Bandcamp Daily, Loudwire, In These Times, The Capital Times, The Press Times, Tone Madison, Belt Magazine, Green Bay City Pages, Milwaukee Record, and more. Apart from my reporting experience, I have over four years of grant writing experience with successful grant applications totaling over $400,000 in received funding and with single sum awards over $70,000. If you are interested in seeing examples of my grant writing or curious about my rates, please email - [email protected] Thanks for stopping by. (he/him/his)
Jessica is a passionate writer residing in the Greater Boston area. A copywriter and editor by profession, she spends her days brewing endless coffee and adding to her "words to use later" list. And writing, of course. Even outside of her 9-5, she can't stop writing. She's a contributing writer to indie music blog Unheard Gems, and lends her skill to a variety of freelance clients, mainly in the music industry. She herself is a lifelong musician, having studied songwriting under seasoned industry professionals and Grammy voters. She uses the writing of music and lyrics as a way to understand the world around her. Whether those songs will ever see the light of day, only time will tell. While she mainly writes about lifestyle and the arts, she is also well-versed in the world of creative fiction. She took classes to enrich her storytelling in Copenhagen, Denmark in the fall of 2019, where she wrote her first-ever short play.
Freelance writer & journalist
Hello! I’m Adam and I’m a freelance writer based in Bristol/London. Much of my work has been in music and culture journalism - I’m interested in music at the experimental fringes, weird electronic sounds and variants of soundsystem culture, often viewed through a lens of social and political history. I'm increasingly interested in topics related to mental health and our relationship with the natural world. I also work in digital communications roles. I’ve worked with the TUC (Trade Union Congress), producing video content and short documentaries. I’ve also worked with Coexist CIC - who for a decade managed Hamilton House, one of the largest community and arts spaces in Bristol - as well as Full Circle @ Docklands, a youth centre based in St Paul's, Bristol. Recently, I've been providing freelance support to comms agency Small Axe. Occasionally, I take on copywriting assignments for clients in the arts, wellbeing and non-profits sectors. I'm open for commissions. Feel free to get in touch.
