Social Equity Advocate, Educator, and Consultant
I am a social equity educator and consultant who utilizes a "Tapestry Framework" to explore the why and the how of what diversity, equity, and inclusion truly means. I incorporate personal, professional, and historical experience and narratives that tell the stories of our ancestors and provides guiding introspection for our pathways forward in cultural humility and radical acceptance, broadening horizons of understanding across identity and intersections. I draw upon concepts and theories of social and existential psychology, cultural anthropology, and sociology to facilitate a gracious space for organizations to gain the tools and rituals needed to transform from one that is “well intentioned” to “well aware” in their social equity journey. I provide DEI assessments and scans, social and community impact reports and strategies, workshops and trainings, facilitation and caucusing, and various nonprofit consulting services. My expertise is rich, but my favorite topics are discussing the theories and "why's" of social equity; Racism, colorism and antiblackness; and intersectional disability inclusion initiatives. I am also available for panels, keynotes and speeches, artistic justice performances, and writing for your publication or blog.

Content Marketing Writer
Over the last few years, I've found that well-researched content is bolstered by a clear, effective narratives. Optimizing content for SEO purposes while being able to clearly express why your content matters is the key to maximizing your ROI. That is the approach I take in all content pieces I work on, whether that be a blog post, a product page, social media updates, or a whitepaper backed by data. I strive to use data and research to tell the "why" of the matter, regardless of word count.

Lisa is a versatile, creative communications pro and storyteller. She has an extensive repertoire of articles she's written for digital and print media about movies, pop culture, healthcare, energy, retail and real estate, among other topics. An eagle-eyed word nerd, Lisa loves making a client's copy shine and edits reports, articles, scripts, emails, brochures, slide decks, websites and direct mail. A public relations consultant for most of her career, Lisa has a nose for what's intriguing and newsworthy, having placed dozens of articles and op/eds in local and national media outlets. She writes pithy social media posts and is a proud member of the #Twitter10, the group that took down Boston's 2024 Olympic bid. When Lisa's not writing, editing or publicizing a project, she's probably cooking or at the movies. She also enjoys ballroom dancing and skydived once. Writer and editor of games, comics, and other such things.
During my 30-year run as a writer and editor, I tried a bit of everything before finally finding my home in the glorious madness of narrative design. I've paid the bills as a comedy writer (stand-up, sketch, radio) and newspaper editor. I wrote a comic-book series endorsed by Clive Barker and edited 100+ others, including dozens of books for Scout Comics' Black Caravan imprint. I wrote/directed the horror movie The Wrong House and played monsters in several other films. For the video game Epic Tavern, I created hundreds of quests, 160 unique hero backstories, and did extensive world-building. For Murder on the Midway (which I also code), I designed dialogue trees and created a fully-functioning traveling carnival loaded with dozens of memorable characters. Some recent audio fiction projects for Realm.fm include the 10-episode werewolf series BLOOD FOREST, the standalone audio ghost story RETURN TO BLACKOUT POINT, and the miniseries THE PULSE, all available by searching for UNDERTOW wherever you get your podcasts. I thrive on complexity, I have a quiet, dedicated home office deep in the Maine wilderness and impeccable references as a remote writer. It is my firm belief that having worked in damn-near every storytelling medium in existence has prepared me to handle anything a project throws at me.
