Multimedia Journalist etc
California born, world bound journalist who can quickly adapt to the ever evolving world we live in. I've been in the field of journalism since late 2006 and in that time I have covered a variety of topics: Breaking news, arts, human interest, community features and events, school newsletters, Christian music, college department newsletters, and keeping a blog while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. Print is and will always be home but I also have experience in radio and in front of the camera, as well as behind. Journalism is an evolving field and so long as it continues to grow, so will I. I'm a natural storyteller, my job simply is finding out whose story to tell.

I'm a South African writer based in Florida, United States. I studied Creative Writing at University of Oxford in the UK, and plan to pursue my Master's somewhere in the States one day. I used to be an editor for Chiang Mai Citylife, the most-read English-language news site and magazine in Northern Thailand. While in Thailand, I also ran Market of Eden- a travel blog all about food, culture, lifestyle and scruffy street dogs. These days, I use my Facebook profile as a platform to write about progressive politics and societal issues in post-Apartheid South Africa. However, my passion lies with my personal writing: fiction, flash and poetry. My most recent work was shortlisted in the 49th New Millennium Writing Awards, and placed as a semi-finalist in the Short(er) Fiction Contest by American Short Fiction.

I am currently receiving my MA in Creative Writing at Ohio University. I graduated with a BA in English from Hanover College with a vast background of various interests. I have explored a wide range of potential career paths ranging from education to public relations to creative writing. The one constant through all of it has been my talent and passion for all things journalism. I have over a decade of various experiences as both a freelance journalist and a full time staff reporter and writer. Though my greatest strength lies in my writing and creativity, I have experience in all media from video production to social media. I have a deep passion for both sports and arts/entertainment, but have also covered various news stories and done several feature and editorial pieces. I am extremely hard working, self-motivated, have a strong love for knowledge and story telling, and am always looking to learn and improve both my writing and other journalistic skills.
