Cara Jenkin

Freelance journalist, writer, content creator

I'm ready to spread the news fast or share your stories with flair. I'm an experienced communications professional as a reporter & editor in media across news, features and sport. While I have specialised in topics such as employment, motorsport and the environment in the past, I'm enjoying the breadth that freelancing brings. I'm keen to be involved in any assignment or project that involves creating words that people actually want to read, be it blogs, company profiles or media releases as well as news and feature articles. I'm based in Adelaide, South Australia, and regularly travel throughout this great state.

David Hasley

Writer

Early on I was referred to as a business and banking whiz. I excelled at commercial banking and business consulting, and I moonlighted in cartooning and screenwriting. My evenings took a turn away from entertainment when a banking client asked me to write STARTING UP, a guide for starting and managing your own business. Subsequently, I transitioned to investment management where I oversaw investor communications for a major investment management firm. My real estate and investment savvy grew exponentially during this period as did my writing, designing and editing abilities. Since then, I've owned and operated two successful businesses and I've continued to hone my writing skills. Scripting, training, correspondence, advertisements, marketing and sales materials, investment reports and newsletters are just a few of the types of communications in which I have experience. I would welcome an opportunity to work, learn and grow with you.

Alex Dakers

Journalist

I'm a freelance journalist based in London, with experience across a variety of news desks at multiple national newspapers. Currently I'm working most regularly at The i Paper (inews.co.uk) - the UK's youngest national newspaper - where I have written and edited for the breaking news, sport, SEO, culture and comment desks, including as a live blog reporter. I was previously a dedicated sportswriter across all sports for another national newspaper, the Cayman Compass, and I have bylines in publications including NBC Bay Area, the Pacifica Tribune, Swimming World Magazine and SwimSwam Magazine. While completing my master's degree in Journalism (with a data journalism focus) at Stanford University ('23) I was a staff writer for The Stanford Daily's sports section, where I used my experience as a national team level athlete and university performance team member to provide in-depth coverage of the university's renowned swimming and diving programs. I also have a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bath ('22), which fuels my desire to improve the way science and health news is reported in the media. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any story ideas as well as freelance writing, editing, copywriting or similar opportunities (remote or otherwise) - you can find me on Twitter (@dakers_alex) or LinkedIn, or email me at: [email protected] You'll find categories to filter my work below.
