Susannah Hollywood

Health Writer

I am a Health Writer with a background in Physiotherapy and Health Ergonomics. I specialise in crafting highly effective health communications which are clear, concise and useful for the lay population. I feel passionately about empowering people through knowledge to take responsibility for their health. Good health information is an essential component of healthcare and can help individuals to ask the right questions, make better decisions and advocate for themselves. I believe that improving health literacy can improve health outcomes. Through my work as a Physiotherapist-Ergonomist, I have had extensive experience of working directly with patients, which has afforded me valuable insight into the challenges and concerns that many people face due to their health. This understanding helps me to write to engage, reassure, and be easily understood. As a healthcare professional, I have a thorough understanding of medical terminology and scientific concepts across a broad range of health disciplines. I am a critical thinker and take the time to evaluate information effectively. My communication skills encompass empathy, compassion and emotional intelligence. I take care to choose the appropriate tone, emotion, and language for each piece of writing I produce. I pride myself on strong attention to detail and work conscientiously to fully understand my clients’ needs and to deliver high-quality content on time and within budget. _______________________________________________________________________ Images (above) from left to right by: Markus Winkler on Unsplash, Freepik, Anne Nygård on Unsplash
