Article Writer and Blogger
Louise Pool is an avid writer with a truly cross-cultural background. Born in Japan to Seychellois/Swiss parents, she attended an international school for six years, before continuing her education in Switzerland. Louise has a natural affinity for languages, but is most comfortable writing in her native language English. Louise is an experienced writer in many different fields. She has written both witty and informative magazine articles and blog posts as well as sizzling sales copy. She worked in the pharmaceutical field for several years and has copy edited and translated several medical research papers, so she is more than familiar with medical terminology. She writes amusing and informative posts on her personal blog Island Wench and is never stuck for ideas. Louise has a strong dislike for anything canned, be it canned writing or canned peas. She does, however, make an exception for tuna.

Journalist, Reporter, Writer
I am currently receiving my MA in Creative Writing at Ohio University. I graduated with a BA in English from Hanover College with a vast background of various interests. I have explored a wide range of potential career paths ranging from education to public relations to creative writing. The one constant through all of it has been my talent and passion for all things journalism. I have over a decade of various experiences as both a freelance journalist and a full time staff reporter and writer. Though my greatest strength lies in my writing and creativity, I have experience in all media from video production to social media. I have a deep passion for both sports and arts/entertainment, but have also covered various news stories and done several feature and editorial pieces. I am extremely hard working, self-motivated, have a strong love for knowledge and story telling, and am always looking to learn and improve both my writing and other journalistic skills. Below are a selection of my clips covering various sides of the journalistic spectrum.

Editor and writer
I am a B2B magazine editor and journalist, specialising in digital media for professionals on the go. In my spare time, I'm studying for the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism by distance learning. I have a degree in English from the University of St Andrews. I am on the lookout for freelance commissions or staff writing roles in the lifestyle and entertainment sectors. Some of my favourite topics to write about are film, TV, music, fashion and food and drink. With two years of experience in B2B PR under my belt, I am also available for copywriting projects or reporting roles in the B2B space.
Having worked as a freelance writer and stylist for fifteen years, I pride myself on the ability to adapt the style of my text to any brief (in British English or American English). Recent commissions span features, interviews, blogs, ghost blogs, opinion pieces, LinkedIn profiles, ghost writing, automated responses, sponsorship letters, website text, email sequencing, sales text, social media content, script packages, thought leadership pieces and case studies. In the past I've provided text across a variety of formats: articles, profiles, advertorial, an exhibition catalogue, press material, introductory text for art publications, company newsletters, flyers—the list goes on. I’m very good with words. The majority of my recent work has been corporate non-disclosure. Clients include PR firms, trade publications, digital consultancies, company commissions and content agencies. I excel at high-quality copy specific to a client's needs. Today’s market calls for creative thinkers who can adapt to a changing world. Recent content contributions cover accessory branding, interior design, networking, dentistry, workplace training, digital ledger technology, fashion, education, veterinary, hospitality, e-commerce, real estate, law, construction, mining, engineering, cyber security, and food branding. Over the years I've covered television, fashion, arts, music, beauty, entertainment, lifestyle, film, tourism, pop culture, theatre, fiction, beauty, fitness, eco living, health and wellbeing, business, bridal, and interiors. I have a television blog at youmetv.blogspot.com.au and I’m an Instagram reviewer of Asian TV and film @watchawatching. I’ve provided promotional text for cinematic releases, and production scripts and schedules for music videos. Storytelling is my passion, and I’m working on a TV pilot pitch package, and feature film, with a New York based team. My novels Optimate, Sound and Otherplace are published under Gil Liane, as is the short story collection This Connect. Public speaking is included in my CV.
