Born in Japan to Seychellois/Swiss parents, she attended an international school for six years, before continuing her education in Switzerland. Louise has a natural affinity for languages, but is most comfortable writing in her native language English. Louise is an experienced writer in many different fields. She has written both witty and informative magazine articles and blog posts as well as sizzling sales copy. She worked in the pharmaceutical field for several years and has copy edited and translated several medical research papers, so she is more than familiar with medical terminology. She writes amusing and informative posts on her personal blog Island Wench and is never stuck for ideas. Louise has a strong dislike for anything canned, be it canned writing or canned peas. She does, however, make an exception for tuna.

Ramya Jegatheesan is a freelance writer, editor, photographer and documentary filmmaker. She completed an Honours BA in anthropology, political science, and English from the University of Toronto and her Master of Journalism at Ryerson where she specialized in online and documentary journalism. She worked on the award-winning film, The Creator's Game: The Quest for Gold and the Fight for Nationhood, which premiered at the ImagiNative Film Festival in the fall of 2011, and won the Viewer's Choice and Naish McHugh Emerging Filmmaker's Award at the Toronto Urban Film Festival for Footprints in 2012. Ramya has interned at The Globe and Mail's Washington D.C. bureau and worked at the CBC's multimedia desk. Her most recent documentary, The Playful City, screened at the 2013 COMMFFEST Community Film Festival as well as the Regent Park Film Festival. She is currently working on a new documentary about the Greenock Swamp.

I am currently receiving my MA in Creative Writing at Ohio University. I graduated with a BA in English from Hanover College with a vast background of various interests. I have over a decade of various experiences as both a freelance journalist and a full time staff reporter and writer. Though my greatest strength lies in my writing and creativity, I have experience in all media from video production to social media. I have a deep passion for both sports and arts/entertainment, but have also covered various news stories and done several feature and editorial pieces.
