Enrico G. Denard

Welcome to my portfolio page! I am a highly self-motivated storyteller who seeks to amplify news and stories outside of the mainstream. I recently graduated from CUNY Brooklyn College, with double majors in Television, Radio, and Emerging Media program (Journalism) and Communications (Visual Media). I earned this degree to help nurture the spirit of open debate on topics pressing the current social climate in the media. My most recent job was at WNYC Radio and Gothamist (New York Public Radio), where I produced first-person narratives for radio and digital news. My primary responsibility was to the Community Partnerships Desk, which is a recent add-on to the newsroom. David Hasley

Writer

Early on I was referred to as a business and banking whiz. I excelled at commercial banking and business consulting, and I moonlighted in cartooning and screenwriting. My evenings took a turn away from entertainment when a banking client asked me to write STARTING UP, a guide for starting and managing your own business. Subsequently, I transitioned to investment management where I oversaw investor communications for a major investment management firm. My real estate and investment savvy grew exponentially during this period as did my writing, designing and editing abilities. Since then, I've owned and operated two successful businesses and I've continued to hone my writing skills. Scripting, training, correspondence, advertisements, marketing and sales materials, investment reports and newsletters are just a few of the types of communications in which I have experience. I would welcome an opportunity to work, learn and grow with you.

Samuel Obiora

Creative Writer.

Hey! I'm what you'd call a general service writer, LOL. I write from the heart and about three major themes; fiction, politics, sports, and everything in between. I'm a STEM graduate who found his love for writing and has been doing so for half a decade through freelancing. I shine in writing African-themed stories.

Vandana Hettiaratchi

Content & Copy Writer

We all dream of changing the world, in some way or another. I believe stories can change the world and I love a job that gives me the opportunity to tell these stories. Over the years, I have shared these stories in many ways. I’ve used photography and pictures, and I’ve created and edited videos but my favourite way of telling a story is with words. I get a thrill from writing! Behind the storyteller, I am a goal-oriented, constantly learning, foodie. I am an avid bookworm, cricket fan and movie junkie. I also love traveling and exploring new cultures, trying out new languages (and failing miserably), and meeting people from all walks of life. On a more serious note, I have a MSc. in Development Studies from Lund University, Sweden and a BSc. in International Relations from LSE, together with 2+ years of experience in content creation, content writing, and digital marketing.

Tori Waschek

Journalist

As a sports reporter for my college newspaper, The Ramapo News, I won first place in sports writing from the 2022 New Jersey Press Foundation College News Competition for my article, “Not all injuries are visible: Mental health and college athletes.” This article focused on the silent struggles of student-athlete mental health, and was important since the college athletics community was, and still is, facing a silent epidemic after five NCAA female athletes died by suicide last spring. My other article that placed first was "Women's basketball team falls late in hard-fought battle against Kean." In 2023, I was awarded second place in the New Jersey Press Foundation College News Competition for my follow-up article, "Mental health still an issue for college athletes" and my article on men's college basketball, "Kansas comes out on top after historic championship game." In addition, I was awarded the North Jersey Media Group Scholarship for the 22/23 academic year. As well as being a presenter at the 2023 New Jersey Communication Conference and Ramapo College's Scholar Day, speaking about my paper that focuses on improving college athlete's mental health where my paper won best in conference. I also gained experience as a sports reporter while interning at The Coast Star Newspaper in Manasquan, New Jersey. I covered summer basketball games, a start-up youth saltwater fishing club and researched the rise in the use of electric bikes. My classes at Ramapo, including sports copy editing, digital sports production, and advanced sports reporting, also trained me to write and produce sports packages for print, broadcast and digital news outlets.
