Netflix Work

Netflix
Seinfeld

This is a small sampling of the synopses I wrote for all 180 episodes of "Seinfeld." With a show that's so well-known for iconic moments and storylines, my goal was to touch on those moments to provide reference for fans who may be searching for a favorite scene or episode. This was particularly important given that the episode titles often don't provide that context.

Netflix
Tiger King

Netflix synopsis for Tiger King. I watched this title about two months before it was released to the public, and it was hard to find words to describe what I had seen! This was a playful way to introduce the Joe-Carol rivarly with a nod to the big cats that brought them into each other's world.

Netflix
History of Swear Words

This light-hearted, comic documentary about the history of profanity deserved synopses that treated the content with the same humorous tone.

Netflix
High Score

Synopsis copy for a fun documentary about the history of video games.

Netflix
Arrested Development

A sample of Netflix synopses for the "remixed" Season 4 of Arrested Development. The goal was to maintain a voice that feels like it comes from within the show's world.

Netflix
Everything Sucks

This short-lived but sweet and funny series about high schoolers in the 1990s was heavy on nostalgia, which I emphasized in the synopsis copy.

Netflix
American Vandal

I got some good social media feedback for my synopsis of American Vandal, a parody of true-crime documentaries. I took a risk with the language here, but it was appropriate given the tone of the show and Netflix's marketing campaign.

The Oregonian/OregonLive
For Oregon City Mud Turtles, a field of broken dreams

When a new minor-league baseball venture in the Pacific Northwest went out of business just a few days after its first and only season started, I looked into what went wrong and how it affected the lives of the players who were hung out to dry.

The Oregonian/OregonLive
Rattie: Juggling Hockey, School and Life

This is a profile I wrote for the Oregonian of 17-year-old hockey player Ty Rattie, who was pursuing a professional career playing for the Portland Winterhawks, a franchise I covered for more than a decade. (This is a repost of the story on the Western Hockey League official site.)
