Laura McCardle

News Editor/Senior Reporter

I am a qualified reporter with more than two years experience of health journalism, writing for both print and online platforms. I currently work as a news editor at Tomorrow's Guides, which publishes national health and social care news. It is my responsibility to source, write and edit news, features and analysis of the sector. Prior to this, I worked as health reporter at the Reading Post, where I interviewed Ed Miliband and Andy Burnham about their campaigns against the NHS reforms. I also worked closely with the local hospital, breaking exclusive stories about a management crisis and debt problems. In addition to health writing, I also have experience of crime, entertainment, and political journalism. I have a shorthand speed of 100 words per minute, a strong understanding of media law and a strong knowledge of social media networks.

Louise Pool

Article Writer and Blogger

Louise Pool is an avid writer with a truly cross-cultural background. Born in Japan to Seychellois/Swiss parents, she attended an international school for six years, before continuing her education in Switzerland. Louise has a natural affinity for languages, but is most comfortable writing in her native language English. Louise is an experienced writer in many different fields. She has written both witty and informative magazine articles and blog posts as well as sizzling sales copy. She worked in the pharmaceutical field for several years and has copy edited and translated several medical research papers, so she is more than familiar with medical terminology. She writes amusing and informative posts on her personal blog Island Wench and is never stuck for ideas. Louise has a strong dislike for anything canned, be it canned writing or canned peas. She does, however, make an exception for tuna.

Linda Ram

Freelance copywriter

I am a fully qualified journalist with 15 years of experience in the print and online media. My grounding was gained at a busy Midlands newspaper group where I learned the basics of grassroots journalism before working my way up to the role of Group News Editor. For the past five years I have been working on a self-employed freelance basis, during which time I have enjoyed success on a range of projects and commissions. I have written articles for a range of websites on topics including business, finance, health and travel to name just a few. I compile a monthly business supplement and have just finished putting together all the editorial for two new standalone education magazines. I also write press releases, marketing material, website content and company profiles for businesses.
