Freelance Journalist
Alice is a fourth-year journalism student at the University of Stirling. She has been writing for Brig Newspaper for three years, and has been editor of their award-winning sister publication, BRAW Magazine, for two years. In June, she will be taking over as Editor-in-Chief of Brig Newspaper. As editor of BRAW, she has collected the SPA award for Best Specialist Publication in Scotland 2025, helped BRAW to reach the national SPA Best Specialist and Best Culture Publication shortlists, co-produced the first ever physical edition of BRAW, curated social media pages, and been recognised by the University of Stirling Students' Union as an equality champion. Alice is a passionate nature and travel writer. Areas of interest include conservation and the environment, soft outdoor adventure, and accessible budget travel. Her work has been recognised on the national SPA 2026 shortlists in the 'Best Lifestyle Article' and 'Best Culture Writer' categories, and has had work published with Historic Environment Scotland and the Aberdeen Marine Mammal Project, with work in progress with Intrepid Times. Alice has also published with the Catalan publication Diari de Barcelona (which provided translation) during her time abroad with Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Culture (music, film, and arts) reviews also form a strong part of Alice's portfolio, especially in relation to Scotland.
