Raised in the UK, Victoria studied Modern Languages and Literature at Bristol University with stints in France and Italy. She worked in Ireland before moving to Sydney, Australia in 2008. Carla Occaso has been a professional journalist since starting as a stringer for The Caledonian Record daily newspaper in 1993. She has worked in journalism most of her career in addition to work in education.
