Kara Flynn Welch

As a detailed and creative person, I seek constructive and meaningful outlets to further my interests and professional experience in writing, research and copy editing.
About me ~ I hold a master's degree in Library and Information Studies and a bachelor of arts degree in English with a concentration in Writing and Communications. I am a certified and licensed school librarian in Massachusetts, U. S. My library experience also includes the public library setting where I worked in youth and young adult service departments.
My writing experience includes working as an editor at a national news wire editing and formatting press releases for electronic dissemination to major news outlets. Additionally, as a member of the arts and entertainment staff, I wrote community announcements and music reviews for The Republican (formerly the Union News) in Springfield, Massachusetts. My favorite writing is poetry, prose, writing stories for children and I am currently working on a novel about my two-times great grandmother.
Along with writing and creating, my personal interests include Yoga, I hold a RYT-200 teaching certification; Reiki, I hold Level I and II certifications; gardening, traveling, hiking, reading, crafts, being near water and working with children.
I welcome opportunities to work with a variety of people and I continually seek positive ways to be creative and be a part of something greater than myself.
