Shafiqur Rahman, born and raised in the Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, has dedicated his career to humanitarian work, journalism, and advocacy. Since 2012, he has worked in education, health, and refugee support, holding leadership roles at OBAT Helpers and co-founding the Humanitarian Assistance Programme (HAP) in 2019.

He has collaborated with UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM, and NYU on research and community projects, co-authoring a study on Rohingya mental health. As a journalist, he has reported for the Associated Press and worked with Amnesty International and Fortify Rights.

Shafiqur also co-founded Future of Rohingya and contributed to the documentary A Dream Called Khushi, which won a 2024 Student Oscar and a 2025 Emmy Award, amplifying Rohingya voices worldwide.
