BT Blog Article: James Sutton
Writer Wednesday blog article about author James Sutton
I am a creative and spirited young woman who enjoys spending time with my husband and kids. I graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s in English and a minor in Professional Writing. After graduating, I focused mainly on my family, writing poetry and short fiction, and reading books. My favorite authors are Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Shakespeare, and Shel Silverstein. The outdoors is a major passion of mine; a great bonfire with friends and family while camping, playing outside on the playground with the kids, or simply taking a walk around the neighborhood. Fishing is also an activity I enjoy, but I still refuse to bait the hook on my own. Overall, the outdoors, family, and literature are extremely important to me.

Blooming Twig Books is an independent publisher of fiction and non-fiction books. It was founded in 2005 by Kent Gustavson, and the name of the company was derived from the direct translation (from Swedish to English) of Blomquist, his mother's maiden name.
Pasque Petals, the official literary magazine of the South Dakota Poetry Society, was launched in 1970 and is the oldest poetry journal in continuous publication in the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. This official literary magazine has grown from a mimeographed monthly publication to two annual professionally-printed editions that exhibit a wide swath of writers who use various genres to express their regional imagery and ideas.
