Local Friends Set To Contend For National Titles At Horse Show

By Meredith Burow Children often dream big, but for middle schoolers Elinor Samarias, 12, and Caleigh Coleman, 13, their dreams of becoming national-caliber athletes are already coming true. The girls are competitive horseback riders, set to compete in the Arabian and Half-Arabian Horse Association Youth Nationals in Oklahoma City July 20 through July 27.

RPB Ed Board Discusses H.L. Johnson Programs, School Security

By Meredith Burow The Royal Palm Beach Education Advisory Board met Monday, Feb. 11 to discuss issues and improvements in local schools - this time with a specific emphasis on H.L. Johnson Elementary School and school security overall. Palm Beach County School Board Member Marcia Andrews also updated the community on recent strides made to increase school safety.

'Christmas On The Farm' Brings Locals To Hydroponics Farm

Little girls sporting faux holly crowns and little boys munching on homemade caramel corn scurried around vendor booths Saturday, Dec. 9 as bushels of bundled-up locals braved the cold and flocked to "Christmas on the Farm" at You Farm, a newly created hydroponics farm off Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, just north of Southern Blvd.

You Farm Hosts First Summer Barn Sale Event

Residents of the western communities and beyond attended You Farm's Summer Barn Sale, staged in cooperation with Ruffles & Overalls, on Saturday, June 29. Local businesses set up booths and sold a wide array of products. Despite the somewhat stormy weather, families and individuals showed up to explore the different products and creations from local vendors.

Arden Launches New Monthly Farm Tour Series

The Arden community, located off Southern Blvd. west of Lion Country Safari Road, launched a new farm tour series last weekend. Future farm tours will be held the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Upcoming dates are Aug. 10, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12.

Rodeo Brings Arrigo Bull Bash Mania To Fairgrounds

The South Florida Fairgrounds hosted Double K Rodeo Productions for its Arrigo Bull Bash Mania on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29. Though the company has been showing in the area for five years, this was the first show they've done in the summer.

KCF Hosts Childhood Cancer Awareness Event

The Kids Cancer Foundation held its "Go Gold: Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Celebration" on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Kids Cancer Center in Royal Palm Beach. Childhood cancer patients living in the area, along with their families, were invited to participate in the event featuring a petting zoo, face painting, cotton candy, crafts stations and more.

Batman Day Celebrated At Local Barnes & Noble Store

"Batman Day" was celebrated nationwide on Saturday, Sept. 21, and Wellington's Barnes & Noble store also swooped in to honor the Dark Knight. Employee Carrie Skellen organized an event in which Batman fans, young and old, could participate in a scavenger hunt, coloring pages, puzzles and more.

Residents of the western communities can now find the beloved Lilly Pulitzer clothing brand right here in Wellington at Tyler Brooke, a boutique clothing store on the second floor of the Mall at Wellington Green. In fact, according to store owner Henry Mosley, Tyler Brooke is the only location west of the turnpike carrying the popular line.
