Residents of the western communities and beyond attended You Farm's Summer Barn Sale, staged in cooperation with Ruffles & Overalls, on Saturday, June 29. Local businesses set up booths and sold a wide array of products. Despite the somewhat stormy weather, families and individuals showed up to explore the different products and creations from local vendors.
The Arden community, located off Southern Blvd. west of Lion Country Safari Road, launched a new farm tour series last weekend. Future farm tours will be held the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Upcoming dates are Aug. 10, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12.
The South Florida Fairgrounds hosted Double K Rodeo Productions for its Arrigo Bull Bash Mania on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29. Though the company has been showing in the area for five years, this was the first show they've done in the summer.

The Kids Cancer Foundation held its "Go Gold: Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Celebration" on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Kids Cancer Center in Royal Palm Beach. Childhood cancer patients living in the area, along with their families, were invited to participate in the event featuring a petting zoo, face painting, cotton candy, crafts stations and more.

"Batman Day" was celebrated nationwide on Saturday, Sept. 21, and Wellington's Barnes & Noble store also swooped in to honor the Dark Knight. Employee Carrie Skellen organized an event in which Batman fans, young and old, could participate in a scavenger hunt, coloring pages, puzzles and more.
Residents of the western communities can now find the beloved Lilly Pulitzer clothing brand right here in Wellington at Tyler Brooke, a boutique clothing store on the second floor of the Mall at Wellington Green. In fact, according to store owner Henry Mosley, Tyler Brooke is the only location west of the turnpike carrying the popular line.
