Brown University junior concentrating in History with a focus on Latin America and Political Science with a focus on American politics. My work has been published in award-winning magazine Texas Monthly and the school newspaper, The Brown Daily Herald. I'm interested in the ways politics and art can intertwine, politics and culture, issues of immigration, and human rights.
Prior to matriculating at Brown, Hugo Lucitante '19 was a protagonist in the class of 2018's First Readings assignment - the 2014 documentary "Oil and Water." "Oil and Water" told the stories of Lucitante and David Poritz '12, who founded Equitable Origin, a system that ensures "energy development is conducted under the highest social and environmental standards," according to its website.

The Brown University Community Council will discuss the possibility of an official boycott of the Hilton Providence at its next meeting Oct. 27, spurred by a labor dispute between workers and The Procaccianti Group - an investment firm the University has boycotted at two locations in the past.
