Chu apologized, made calls to teen after sexual assault complaint, lawsuit alleges

A teenage girl who accused Coun. Sean Chu of a violent sexual assault in 1997 said she had previously met the former police officer multiple times and that he left her messages after the incident apologizing and asking to see her again, according to court documents. The information is contained in a statement of claim filed with the Court of Queen’s Bench in 1999 and recently obtained by Postmedia.

Roger Bilodeau handed 10-year sentence for manslaughter in deaths of Métis hunters

The sentence came after the family of Jacob Sansom and Maurice (Morris) Cardinal gave victim impact statements, many bringing photographs of the two men, killed on March 27, 2020. Sansom’s younger sister Gina Sansom said she brought pictures to be entered into the court record because she wanted to make sure both Bilodeaus saw the fullness of her family, and the love, kindness and joy they had.
