Welcome to my portfolio! I'm Lauren – an experienced writer, editor, and social media manager from Vancouver, BC living in Montreal, Quebec.
I currently freelance for Irreverent Gent, a blog focusing on Men's Lifestyle content, and I am actively seeking out full-time or contract copywriting, marketing, and/or community management positions. My writing experience is diverse and includes such areas as blog writing for online magazines, article writing and editing for arts collectives, academic and thesis writing, and editorial biography.
I hold a Master's degree in Cultural Analysis and Social Theory as well as a Bachelor's degree in Media, Information and Technoculture with a minor in Women's Studies. My passion for writing, honed during these degrees, has me seeking out opportunities to write and edit a range of digital copy for diverse audiences.
When I’m not writing I enjoy reading snowy ski mountain murder mysteries, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, and exploring the beautiful outdoors!

Scholarly Analysis
A short introductory section of my Major Research Paper, which examined Western news media outlets' depictions of young female victims of violent crime, particularly how these depictions differed by victims' race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, perceived sexuality, Indigeneity, and other factors.
