Born and raised in Astoria, NYC Jill Parshley-Cardillo earned two scholarships and a BA in Drama/Theatre and English/Creative Writing from CUNY Queens College. She was the Executive Director of the summer theatre at Queens College, Treasurer of the Theatre Guild, and News Editor and Staff Writer for the Queens College Newspaper, The Queens Quad. She is a NY State Licensed Real Estate Sales Agent (P/T) and has taught Elementary School, Pre-K, Afterschool, Summer Camp, GED, and high school. Jill is a freelance Creative Writing Teacher. She is a blog writer for a social networking website, Chooseafamily.com. She was featured in several theatrical performances and films, and remains a contributing journalist with over 45 articles and several poems published (hard copy and online). Jill is a two-time graduate of the Yale Writer's Workshop, and is currently writing a YA fiction novel. She created her own column, "In Between Brooklyn & Queens" publicizing local events, hot spots, talent, and human interest stories. Jill is a songwriter, singer and rapper, and she's won 3rd place in the Nuyorican Poets Cafe Original Poetry Slam. She is an actor and voice-over artist. She performed in the annual NYC Poetry Festival, theatre productions, independent films, and she was the voice of two Sirius Satellite radio stations (Sirius 26 Left of Center, and Sirius 36 The Beat).
