I have been a freelance author for ten years. I have done work for New York University, Fordham University Law School, Independent high schools and college as well as markets such as Ms. Magazine, Bust Magazine, Tor.com and The Writer Magazine. I am an editor and contributor for The Global City Review. I am also on the editorial board of The Global City Press, a small press connected to The City University of New York.

I grew up in Illinois and have extensive experience in the Midwest and the New York City area. I have published four novels, two literary novels Betwixt and Between (Ig Publishing, 2013) and The Beekeeper's Daughter (Bedazzled Books, 2019) under the pen name Jessica Stilling. I have also published two Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels under the pen name JM Stephen. Into the Fairy Forest is the first book in a four book series called The Chronicles of Pan and Nod is a single Science Fiction novel, both published by DX Varos Press.
