I took my first journalism class as a high school sophomore and have been writing since that class!

I earned a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in journalism and communications and built a successful career in marketing and internal communications. I have worked for nonprofits, management companies and two Fortune 500 corporations. I enjoy identifying my audiences and developing messages that will resonate with them.

My strengths include:

• Researching, writing, editing and proofreading multi-channel communications.

• Writing articles, direct mail, eBlasts, marketing collateral, presentations, press releases and bios.

• Ensuring all communications are consistent with branding guidelines and written in ApStyle and/or company style.

• Developing and managing project, editorial and social media calendars.

• Managing multiple projects and delivering them on time and within budget.

Memorial Day Essence of Freedom Run Breaks Records

A record number 500 runners hit the streets of Deerfield on Memorial Day for the 4th Annual Essence of Freedom 5K/10K Run. The event is the largest fundraiser for Support Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc. (S.O.S. Freedom), a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to Illinois active duty military and veterans.

Heartland Animal Shelter Gala Raises Over $85,000

Heartland Animal Shelter's 17th Golden Paw Gala raised $88,000 on October 5 at the Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, Ill. Funds raised will be used to continue the mission of the Shelter and go toward purchase of an x-Ray machine to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of animals in need of these services.
