My name is Ivan Smyth. I am a Journalism and New Media student at the University of Limerick (UL). I work as a freelance journalist and have reported on games for Galway Bay FM and The Connacht Tribune. I am the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for UL GAA Club and Galway Handball.

I was shortlisted for a Student Media (Smedia) Award which brings together the best up and coming journalists to celebrate journalism in colleges across Ireland. I co-hosted a radio show with a friend of mine and we finished runners up in our category.

An Interview With Speed Skater Ryan McAnuff

By Ivan Smyth Ryan McAnuff is not your average medical student. He was born in Canada but is speed skating for Ireland while combining running a business and trying to become a doctor. The Toronto born medical student has represented Ireland in short track speed skating since 2016.
