Hilerie Kwan

Hi! I am Hilerie, and I am interested in pursuing a career in journalism and research.

I believe in the power of language to promote diversity and unveil different perspectives. Because of that, I seek to transform my academic knowledge of cultural theories into intriguing and accessible pieces for the general public. In particular, I am interested in exploring different cultures and excavating the gender and racial ideologies embedded in everyday media.

I have recently completed my MPhil at the University of Cambridge and was a Lifestyle writer for Varsity (the largest student newspaper in Cambridge) under their Film and TV section. During my undergraduate degree, I published articles in SCMP (the largest English newspaper in Hong Kong), MOViEMOViE magazine, Life is Art, and Anifest brochures.
