The Marina Market's future has been dealt a major blow after the city council shot down a plan to expand it, and refused permission for it to continue as a food emporium. Cork City Council this week turned down an application by the market which included a part where they asked for "permission for the retention of the change of use from warehouse/distribution use to market/food emporium".
Sixteen Cork County Councillors are to travel to Bratislava and look at objectives such as "becoming a greener, more carbon free, Europe" among other things. The council have confirmed that the elected members, as well as five staff, will undertake the three-day trip next week.
