Evgeny Skigin

Evgeny Skigin is a European entrepreneur whose career spans two industries most people would never connect: industrial hemp and cryptocurrency. Educated at Bond University in Australia, he returned to Europe and settled in Switzerland, where he has spent more than fifteen years betting on technologies before their markets were ready for them. In 2008 he entered the hemp sector and went on to co-found the Netherlands-based Dun Agro Hemp Group, which became one of the first operations in the world to manufacture prefabricated hempcrete panels — turning a centuries-old building material into factory-made components that can be craned into place in days. He later put the material to a personal test, using hempcrete in the walls of his own carbon-negative home on Australia's Sunshine Coast.
In 2014 Skigin turned to digital payments, founding Bitclear, a crypto infrastructure firm that ultimately relocated to Liechtenstein and secured licenses from the principality's Financial Market Authority. Rather than chase speculation, he treated regulatory compliance as a structural investment from the start and now works with expert groups advising legislators on how blockchain should be governed. A self-described "simple capitalist" who measures success by profitability rather than valuation, he sees stablecoins — not volatile Bitcoin — as the credible bridge between crypto and real commerce. What unites his ventures is a single instinct: enter where the distance between an idea and the infrastructure to deliver it is widest, then hold the thesis until that gap closes.
