Museum dedicated to art of the region

Much of the Michener Art Museum is housed in the extensively renovated building that beginning in 1884 housed the Bucks County Prison. When the prison closed 100 years later, county commissioners decided to lease the buildings and land to the new museum, which opened in September, 1988.
