My name is Daria Dormidontova.
In 2016 I graduated with honors from Lomonosov Moscow State University and then I decided to continue my studies at University of Bologna. So in 2019 I earned a Master's degree in Political Sciences, with specialization in Political Journalism. In order to successfully write my thesis and scientific papers I interviewed R. Prodi [former Prime Minister of Italy] and F. Frattini [former Minister of Foreign Affairs] under the guidance of ambassador G. Lenzi.
I am passionate about writing, journalism, and social networks/media. So I have decided to turn these interests into professional activities. I had a work experience as a Creative Copywriter, a Publishing Editor, a SMM, and a Content Creator [in Italian, Russian and English languages].
However, music is my real passion.
I worked as a Freelance Reporter during a few music festivals and concerts. Also I helped with selection of relevant information and adaptation of digital and visual content for a couple of musical sites and YouTube Channels.
I also attended a few professional courses dedicated to Music Business [Music Management // PR & Marketing for Artists // Organization of Music Events].
Now I’m a self-employed Marketing & Communication Specialist for Music, located in Milan. I’m in collaboration with music bloggers from Russia & create exclusive content for Black Milk [Russian music community, 32k followers].

I don't think Converge — that band which needs a special introduction. Especially among people who are interested in heavy music. However, if you have never heard about this band before, then I am very sorry to upset you: in this article you will not find any analysis of the discography, or decoding of meanings, or analysis of musical techniques. If you still decide to check out this “impressive longread”, then I will be very happy if it provokes a desire to discover the art of Converge.
This text is inspired by a conversation with Colin H. van Eeckhout [frontman of the Belgian band Amenra] in Bologna on March 25th. This is probably the first interview I left with more questions than answers.
Counterparts are a Canadian melodic hardcore band formed in 2007.
