Growing up in small-town Iowa, NBA fandom was basically a free-for-all. You could pick the closest Midwest city and follow the Wolves, Bulls, or Bucks, or take your pick of the whole country. When I was in high school, I owned a Chevy Blazer, wanted to move to the Pacific Northwest, and just became a basketball junky. I've been a RIP City fan since. While having never traveled farther west than Colorado.

But the unknown has never been a problem for me. After graduating from Iowa State with degrees in Environmental Science and Wildlife Conservation, I became an Urban Farmer. A pivot in my life that would take me from cornfields to deserts as I moved to Phoenix. All the while, I was following the NBA constantly. Whether it was games, YouTube, or podcasts. My eyes were transfixed on the game of basketball.

Fast forward another year, and I'm in Northern AZ, ready to take the leap into the unknown again. I don't have formal education in writing outside of scientific reports. But I know my voice, my humor, and how to tell a story. In my first year on Fiverr, my scripts have passed the one-million views mark on YouTube. For once in my young adult life, this next year won't be facing the unknown. I see a path forward with my writing. Who knows, it might even lead to a game in Portland.
