My name is Tiffany Elliott. I am seeking employment with your organization. I have a combined ten years of writing and photography experience, beginning in college as a general assignment reporter for the Green River Community College student newspaper, The Current. There, I was swiftly promoted to a columnist and student government correspondent. This taught me first-hand not only how to write for an audience, but gave me the opportunity to develop a rapport with the greater Green River community.

I have carried and built upon these initial lessons in other writing jobs, both during college and beyond. I have freelanced for both the Federal Way Mirror, The Herald of Puyallup, and was an intern with the Tacoma Weekly. I also have experience in new media as well. I created and maintained my own blog, as well as blogged for both examiner.com and patch.com.

This experience has increased with my work as the social media director for the West Tapps Maintenance Co., where I maintain the homeowners associations’ official Facebook and Twitter accounts. I also serve as the liaison between the community and board of trustees, writing regular reports as necessary.

I am also the content coordinator for Lake Tapps Living magazine. In this role, I am in constant communication with my community, as I pick out content, interview featured residents, write the Community News items, and work closely with contributors and community partners. I also work in scrutinizing the layout for the final production, assuring that the magazine looks as polished and professional as possible.

I’m familiar with most subjects, and have covered city government, business, sports, general assignment topics, as well as the arts. I have excellent communications and organizational skills, and can work effectively in a deadline-driven environment. I’m proficient in AP Style and am comfortable using the company’s website and other online research tools to complete projects.
