Shane Michael Singh

I am an award-winning journalist and editor living in Los Angeles, and currently Senior Editor of Playboy magazine.

I specialize in men's interest stories, lifestyle features, LGBT news reporting, political journalism, enterprise reporting related to sex and culture and long-form celebrity interviews. A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a 2010 NASPA fellow, my 10-year career in storytelling has taken him from covering the biggest events in entertainment for TV Guide to tracking the Windy City's dining scene for Chicago magazine to editing the iconic Playboy magazine. In 2016 I served as a key staff member in the magazine relaunch of Playboy, which received almost 1 billion media impressions.

I have written for Out, REALTOR, Time Out LA, and the Chicago Tribune, among others. For two years I penned a sex column, "The Singh-le Life," for the LGBT news startup Spectrum, owned by Wrapports, and Chicago Phoenix. I have interviewed Oscar winners, thought leaders, Donald Trump and yes, Playmates.

In 2016, I won Folio:'s Eddie Award for Best Article in a Men's Magazine for editing and ghostwriting "My Deportation," published in Playboy in March 2016.
