Educator parlays Toastmaster skills into career and competition wins | The Hub

Since 2015, Dallas ISD educator Roderick Goudy has worked at mastering the Toastmaster skills of public speaking and leadership, delivering speeches and taking on leadership roles in Dallas ISD Talk It Up! Toastmasters Club and at the Toastmasters' district level as an area director, training facilitator, and mentor.

Campus celebrates new name, mission at new all-boys school

A ribbon-cutting followed student choir, band and drama performances as staff, parents and students gathered for the naming ceremony for the Young Men's Leadership Academy at Fred Florence Middle School, the district's newest single-gender school for boys. Math Instructional Coach Derek Thomas opened the event and served as emcee, and Principal Dawn Walker welcomed district and city officials and community members.

Reconnection Centers offer students a second chance at graduation | The Hub

Three campuses receive $1,000 each for students' recycling efforts | The Hub

Recycling saves money, conserves natural resources and cuts down on waste dumped into landfills. It just so happens it can also pay off for schools.
