Highly experienced B2C and B2B copywriter, editor, and content strategist with many years at some of the top companies in the Seattle area including Amazon, T-Mobile, and Microsoft. Known for quick project turnaround in fast-paced and ambiguous work environments; mastery of many different content types—from social and marketing to UI and technical documentation—on a wide variety of subjects from baby products and consumer electronics to bankruptcy law and travel; and creating and enforcing style and process guidelines to maintain site/brand consistency.
My education includes a degree in English with a creative writing emphasis from the University of Washington. After graduation, I completed the UW's competitive-entry post-baccalaureate editing program that covered everything from proofreading through developmental editing.
While my main areas of expertise are marketing and UI copy, I also write literary fiction and poetry, edited two published novels, ran my own webzine for readers and writers—with five regular writers/editors, and have worked on many diverse freelance projects. I'm adept at learning new writing styles and love learning about new products and topics—it's what I've done my entire career and it never grows old.
