Satisfied nurses improve hospital outcomes, mortality

Nurses have a significant impact on the success of a hospital, according to a study of a team of Kaiser Permanente nurses published in Health Care Management Review. Many hospitals have tried and failed to replicate the Kaiser model, currently present in eight states, which integrates hospitals, insurance and doctors' offices into one system, researchers said.

Hospital death rates support the 'weekend effect' phenomenon

Patients in several developed countries who are admitted to hospitals on Saturdays and Sundays are more likely to die within 30 days than patients with similar conditions who are hospitalized during the week, according to a new study published in BMJ Quality & Safety.

New Charter Schools in Rosedale Spark Heated Discussion
