Hey, I’m Simon, but you can also call me Jimmy Humbucker, my singer-songwriter alter ego.
As an aspiring content marketer and musician, I’m on a mission to spread mental health awareness through my music and advocacy. My goal is to help those navigating mental health challenges, whether for themselves, a friend, or a loved one.
When I’m not creating music, I share images, videos, articles, and other creative content to provide valuable mental health information and resources.
I hold a degree and a diploma in Media Studies, with a major in Digital Communications from Guelph and Humber College. With over six years of professional experience, I’ve worked with registered nonprofits like Canada Cares and the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada (Tourette Canada) in Editorial and Communications Coordinator roles. Additionally, I’ve started a sole proprietorship and worked for the Toronto-based digital agency, PRODUKTIV.

Advocacy
Growing up with living with Tourette Syndrome hasn't been easy, and still isn't. I was diagnosed at age 14 in 2008. I never knew anyone close to me with the condition - that is not until I went looking for people like me. When I graduated in late 2016 from my undergrad, it was my...
🎥 Join me on a journey back to 2017 when something unexpected happened in my life. I joined Tourette Canada's Virtual Support Group and little did I know, it would lead me to an incredible opportunity. A documentary series called "Employable Me" aimed to break down barriers and stigmas faced by people with disabilities in...
If you live with Tourette Syndrome, more than likely you are also experiencing symptoms of ADHD (or other comorbid conditions). The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic may be making your ADHD-like symptoms worse if your job requires you to work from home.

Music Journalism
When I begin my workday, I always throw on the radio. Radio isn't something people typically listen to anymore - with the advent of streaming services, podcasts and the ability to listen to just about anything you can dream of at your fingertips.

Last month's saddest day for all of us in the music world was Thursday July 20th. Chester Bennington was a light in a world of darkness, and an amazing artist. Linkin Park, to me, was more than a band. They were artists. And one of the last great rock bands.
Professional Work
We are in challenging and unprecedented times. COVID-19 is spreading rapidly across the world and has been called a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). In light of this, Tourette Canada's Board of Directors has made an executive decision to postpone Trek for Tourette 2020 to a tentative date of May 31st.
If you are the parent of a child who has OCD or anxiety then you know what it's like when they get stressed about homework.
I used to think I could never travel to places on my own, with my anxiety and sheer lack of confidence. I felt fortunate to live in Canada, as many of our country's greatest tourist destinations are accessible.
A collection of videos I created for my employer Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada (Tourette Canada) to raise promotional awareness for our Trek for Tourette.
Simon and Melissa C. Water work together at TC Home Office as Tourette Canada's marketing team. They are the power-duo behind all of TC's social media campaigns, website upkeep, etc. But, like you, Simon and Melissa both have TS, and care deeply for the cause.
Here are some ways you can teach essential hygiene habits to your child without the nightly temper tantrums.
