Vanessa Maderer

Freelance Writer and Editor

Canada

I'm well-versed in the style of meticulous line editing with particular skill at correcting diction and grammatical/punctuation errors. I am also comfortable working on larger picture errors such as issues with plot (in fiction), problematic themes, continuity errors, voice (in fiction), world-building (in fiction), imagery/descriptive language (in fiction), tweaking the tone of writing appropriate to situation, and general brainstorming.

I am happy to aid in the creation or revision of novels, short stories, poetry, academic or non-academic articles, blog posts, social media posts, essays, and potentially more. My goal is always to elevate writing to the best it can be without sacrificing the integrity of the author's goals.

I can be reached at [email protected], and generally respond in less than a day.

The Elusive A+ Paper: Formula For Elevated Writing - The Campus Journal

Elevated Writing isn't Unattainable: We've all experienced it; foreboding high school English teachers prophesying difficult 30 page essays, anxiety-fueled all-nighters, and, no, university professors will not be quite so lenient. I'm here to tell you that this common albeit well-meaning misconception doesn't quite ring true.

Life Plans, Passions, and Motivations - Or Lack Thereof - The Campus Journal

Transitioning Into The Real World During senior year of high school we really think we have it all figured out. Life plans, tomorrow's breakfast. We're 18 after all - adults! We've been accepted to universities of our first or second (or third) choice, enrolled in courses applicable to our chosen degree, and taken that first plunge of applying for student loans.

Only Mostly Phobic

This is a Literary Journalism story written during my last year of university; it is a human interest story/profile of a young blood-phobic man attempting to best his fear to enter the field of Wildlife Biology
