Academic research by Professor Xiong has gained recognition in the field, with Elsevier SciVal ranking the professor first among the UK's top 500 authors for citations (excluding self-citations) in Supply Chain, Closed Loop, and Remanufacturing from 2014 to 2023. Publications appear in journals including Nature Communications, Technovation, and Transportation Research Part E. Keath.AI applies generative AI to educational data analysis. With Professor Xiong as co-founder and Chair, this venture has attracted £4 million in investments and achieved a £40 million valuation in 2024. The company, which shares ownership with the University of Surrey, serves 10 UK universities and global education providers including D2L and BPP.
