Yannis Lobaina (b. 1979, Baracoa, Cuba) is an award-winning Cuban artist, author, and nature photographer living in Toronto. Yannis focuses on writing, mindful nature photography, and community art workshops in her daily art practice.
As a photographer, she specializes in minimalist visual storytelling. She captures awe moments, patterns, shapes, and textures in everyday life. Her photography encourages viewers to appreciate the calm and magic around them. Yannis values slow creativity, mindful living, slow travel, and ethical photography, which are important in her work. She has received many awards from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Foundation. These awards have allowed her to exhibit her photographs and mixed media art in various galleries across Toronto.
