Oliver Jarvis is the in-house writer for Asian Geographic Magazines ltd. He currently resides in Singapore, where he is adapting to a culture which is far different from his simple British roots! Out of the office, Oliver enjoys travelling Asia; writing, photographing and, after both producing and directing his own documentary, now enjoys videoing his experiences. Once a lifestyle writer for The Gentleman's Journal, and The National Student, Oliver decided to change his 'game' and cover topics that actually matter. Ultimately he wishes one day to have made enough money to retire with a Pina Colada on an isolated beach - a little like Tom Hanks in Castaway, but without the beat-up football.

Whether you're a debutant traveller of the country, seasonal regular or full-time resider, the UK holds an array of picture postcard sights which have been made famous around the world. The landscape that inspired Wordsworth's lyrical odyssey, Dickens' descriptive charm and One Direction is a place beguiled with beauty and memories.
Golf holds a wide appeal because of the ambience, the challenge and the tranquillity a man experiences when on a course. A golfer is gifted with the guiltless ability to be able to disappear for a weekend on a golf trip, unlike its counterpart the rugby tour; which is often viewed in a negative light of drunken chants, mindless courting and impertinent initiations.

If you've gone out of your way to read this, chances are you are not getting laid, or you are looking to get laid more, or you're hopelessly looking for that one true love. Well stop looking, right away. We're not here to discuss the best ways to pull, or how to do it or where to put it.
It's a tough one... compiling a list of lyrics that every gentleman will agree with as having the most meaning. After all, every man has his own set like he does his own golf clubs.
It's the modern way nowadays, when selecting wine from a supermarket shelf, to go for the most eye-catching label or the most efficiently priced. There are many reasons for this; we just don't have the time nor the money for quality fine wine, and even if we did - we know sod-all about what is the best, or what goes with what.

A gentleman's bookshelf says more about the man he is than his most watched on Netflix, his favourite sex position on a Sunday morning or his opinion on Joey Essex. Indisputably it's what a man reads, how he empathises with the characters and how he uses what he learns from them, that defines him.
