My name is Holly Huntoon and I was born and raised in Warwick, Rhode Island. I attended Roger Williams University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Shortly after graduating college, I started my first job as an Assignment Editor at NBC 10. Three years later, I moved on to become the Media Relations Specialist for the New Bedford Police Department. While working for the NBPD, I was recruited from City Hall to become the interim Public Information Officer for the City and for Mayor Jon Mitchell.

City Reaches Agreement with MBTA for Pedestrian Bridge over J.F.K. Boulevard

Mayor Jon Mitchell has requested the City Council approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the City of New Bedford for a $21 million pedestrian bridge creating access to the new downtown inter-city rail station.

City Government Receives National Award for Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the preeminent association of government finance professionals in the United States and Canada, recently announced that the City of New Bedford’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report FY21 has earned the association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
