Sylvia O’Hagan’s career in communications began at Clarins, a global cosmetics company where she was the public relations head for almost a decade. After leaving Clarins, Sylvia became the Director of Community / Public Relations of the Alzheimer’s Association Westchester / Putnam Chapter at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, New York. At the same time, she remained immersed in consumer goods communications through freelance writing and media outreach assignments with public relations agencies where she worked on beauty brands including Elizabeth Arden, Pond’s, Helene Curtis, Cutex and Vaseline Intensive Care.

As Senior Media Director at the boutique health and beauty PR firm Chris Molinari Communications, she directed media efforts and communications for clients including Aveda, Maidenform, Clearasil, Portico, La Perla, Fendi and the launch of N.V. Perricone Cosmeceuticals.

Sylvia's editorial writing resume includes working as a journalist and columnist for the award-winning Westchester County newspaper, The Rivertowns Enterprise and articles in magazines (Self, Beauty Digest, New York House) and online.

Since 2005, Sylvia has been an independent public relations consultant and writer. She specializes in consumer products and B2B technology writing and pitching for major brands including IBM, Dun & Bradstreet, Olympic Paint, Newell Rubbermaid, Philips Lighting, Wendy’s and Georgia-Pacific.

Sylvia is based in New York and available for writing assignments and media pitching.
