At SEE International Fundraiser, Art is Medium for Restoring Sight

SEE International is joining the Abstract Art Collective (AAC) for the 4th Annual ArtSEE fundraiser. Opening reception is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, and closing reception is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Both are free events. The Bronfman Family Jewish Community Center will host the juried exhibit and additional art sale, to benefit SEE's global cause of eliminating avoidable blindness worldwide.

Dr. Helena Ndume, U.N. Nelson Mandela Prize Recipient

International Recognition Dr. Helena Ndume, a star eye surgeon and SEE volunteer, was awarded the United Nations Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Prize on July 24, 2015 at the United Nations. This is the first time the award will be given in the international body's history.

Continuing to Give Sight During Natural Disasters

This past month, SEE International has been working diligently alongside many other vision care nonprofits worldwide to increase global awareness of "avoidable blindness and its causes" by collectively promoting IAPB's (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) International World Sight Day and its 2017 theme "Make Vision Count."

SEE International Volunteer Doctors Restore Sight for Thousands in El Salvador

More than 4,000 men, women and children in Chalatenango, El Salvador, had their lives transformed for the better last month, thanks to the sight-restoring work of SEE International's amazing volunteer eye surgeons. The humanitarian project, which took place Feb. 8-20, was a joint campaign between SEE International and Eye Care International.
