Sarah is a Paul D. Coverdell Fellow at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Growing up in California, she became acutely aware of the intertwined issues of the Americas. Sarah studied and learned in Spanish at University of California, Santa Cruz and Pontificia Universidad Católica in Chile. While in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, she worked to improve infrastructure in rural schools with teachers and community members in conjunction with USAID. Sarah graduated from Columbia University Teachers College as a Peace Corps Fellow and was a bilingual public school teacher in Brooklyn, New York, and Student Teaching Supervisor at Hunter College. These experiences have informed Sarah’s lens on education and migration in her reporting and investigating.
