Journalism combines two of my favorite things: communicating and learning. I believe that even if you think you know everything, nobody should ever neglect an opportunity to listen and converse. Sometimes, even if you feel you learned nothing, many experiences can often lead you to knowledge elsewhere in life. You can always hang your hat on being a good listener. My goal as a student of life is to discover and to understand. Much is the same as my role as a journalist. At most, I hope to inspire a desire to understand and learn in readers in much the same way I continue to live through my work. At least, I will remain diligent in my duty to accurately and fairly communicate stories and information to the readers of my community.

Grossmont Clubs Blog

On Monday, I attended The Symposium, Grossmont's philosophy club, hosted by professors June Yang and Victor Abundez-Guerra, for a very relevant discussion on democratic socialism. Usually, the club focuses on more existential and philosophical issues, such as life after death or the meaning of life; however, the recent elections sparked a particular focus for Monday's discussion.
