I go where the stories are

Malaysia

No one, from C-suite executives to regular consumers, can resist a good story. We all have a primal urge to sit around a campfire and invest our emotions in a riveting tale. That's why a compelling brand narrative is your most powerful call-to-action.

Like the bards, I am a wanderer at heart. If I'm not traveling, I'm thinking of traveling. Everywhere I go, I see stories that need to be told.

Throughout my career, I've written about troll museums, RFP management for logistics companies, Christian golfers, and obscure Chilean magic realist novels. Whatever your brand story is, I can give it a voice and I can share it with the world.

Don't just sell products. Build connections. Let your target audience see the real you.

Waxman

Boy waves his pudgy arms in the air and tries to speak. He only manages a boneless caterwaul that draws attention, but in no way gets him what he wants. "He's at it again," Daddy mumbles. "The nappy, Stel." "Oh, do your bit for once," Mummy mutters. "I already birthed him."

Short Stories: You Will Know Me by My Voice by Sharon Yan Wong

The shadows permeate everything within. I only know I'm not alone from the moans and curses of the other travelers stumbling beside me. When I spy a dim glow ahead, I must resist the urge to push past my companions to reach this source of light.

Jean-Michel Basquiat at the Gagosian: A Brief Spark of Savage Genius

Just last week, the Gagosian opened a major exhibit paying homage to one of New York's most talented but tortured artists, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988). A charismatic character bristling with self-destructive creative energy, Basquiat was known for expressing and juxtaposing conflicting qualities in his work.

"This Our Daily Bread"

There's a veneer of antiquity over the small mining town that makes me doubt it runs on our time, if it runs on time at all. The buildings, the surfaces and the very air have the faded quality of an old manuscript unearthed in a dusty archive.

Conjuring Arts Research Center in NYC: A Magician's Paradise

The Conjuring Arts Research Center does not advertise itself to the casual visitor. This is hardly because it lacks educational value, fascinating content or respect for us non-magical commoners. Rather, the Conjuring Arts Research Center's sole purpose is to further the knowledge of those who have already been initiated into the intriguing, little-understood world of the magician.

The Museum of the American Gangster: Born of a brief brush with crime

I can see how the visitor's first glimpse of the Museum of the American Gangster, located in a former speakeasy on St. Mark's, could be a bit bemusing. For the most part, the Museum of the American Gangster is dominated by scores of black and white photos and an assortment of memorabilia that probably don't signify much to an outsider.

A Tale of Two Elevator Museums in NYC

Would you consider the ubiquitous elevator worthy of a shrine? Apparently this humble-seeming mode of transportation has more devotees in New York City than you'd think. There are two different elevator museums in the city-the Long Island City Elevator Historical Society and The Museum -both totally different but equally worthy of perusal.

Livingston Masonic Library: As Close As You'll Get Without Joining

What does the word Freemasons conjure in your mind? Practitioners of occult rituals? Old white presidents? Or perhaps, a polite term for the Illuminati? Tom Savini, director of the Chancellor Robert R Livingston Masonic Library and our guide for the hour and a half long tour organized by Atlas Obscura, has heard it all before.

Lower East Side Troll Museum: New York's Only Homage to the Troll

If you find yourself standing before the Lower East Side's Troll Museum, you might find yourself feeling bewildered, maybe even a little cheated. There is definitely little to indicate its presence in a nondescript apartment building on the Lower East Side. This is why making an appointment with Reverend Jen, the troll museum's proprietor, is a must.

Morbid Anatomy Library, Where Death And Beauty Intersect

After visiting the Morbid Anatomy Library, part of Brooklyn's interdisciplinary Proteus Gowanus Gallery, you are likely to feel haunted. I personally woke with my brow damp and my heart hammering, the memory of a black-and-white photograph depicting a dead baby clinging to my waking moments like residue.

Gay Bars in Kuala Lumpur, Where Homosexuality is Illegal

The above image is probably not what the average traveler to Malaysia anticipates. While it is known as a moderate Muslim nation, Malaysia is still a place where the less conservative among us should err on the side of caution.
