Richard Alan Hannon is a photographer and nature sound recordist who began his career working for the same newspaper he delivered as a teenager in Mansfield, Ohio. He went on to become a staff photographer for Wyoming’s statewide newspaper, The Casper Star-Tribune, a photo editor at The State in Columbia, South Carolina, and a staff photographer for The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has driven into quite a few hurricanes, spent many a day and night covering pro and college sports, sat through and enjoyed state government, has been fortunate to cover a myriad of national figures and much more.
Pictures of the Year International awarded him a 1st-place entry for his work during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
