Hello creatives, i'm Raessa Belnavis, a Fashion Merchandising Major Public Relations Minor at the illustrious Howard University. Currently the Social Media Blogger for Style Equation Magazine (LA) and Contributing Writer for Worn Magazine (DC) and Arc Street (Paris), and the a former Columnist for Design Diary (DC). I've studied at Central Saint Martins in London, and plan to also further my experience in fashion writing at Polimoda: The Institute of Fashion Design & Marketing in Florence, Italy. A lover of high street fashion and post-modern art, I'm trying to stamp up my passport and get as much experience as I can in the fashion industry.

Dear Diary, Humidity in the District is like no other! A lady must have a go-to outfit for days like such; something simple but most importantly, lightweight! A solid maxi skirt is a great addition to your wardrobe this summer. Maxis are versatile can be dressed up or down, worn night or day, light or dark!

Design Diary | Festival Friendly

A lady could get use to this kind of summer, I'm loving this weather! Perfect for outdoor concerts, beach trips, and the many music festivals going on all over the country! Music festivals, like the famous Cochella, bring about a combination of fashion styles, giving people free range to express their personal style through their clothing.

Warm nights are one of the many great things spring and summer bring! On a nice summer nights, your wardrobe can be versatile enough for you to wear just about anything in your closet...with the exception of the thick grandpa sweaters and UGGs. Rompers can be a versatile addition to your spring/summer attire!

Design Diary | A silk-screened, thrifted T

With Katy's dress, I though immediately thought TYE DYE, but I didn't want to add any color to piece. I felt the lobster should stay color accented. Dying the dress with stripes is subtle, but gives it a little more depth and is also inexpensive.

Have a holly jolly ugly sweater party!

Tis' the season to deck the halls, jingle bells and walk in a winter wonderland! It's the time of year where you drink hot chocolate with friends by the fireplace, while watching a marathon of claymations...well, at least that's a more traditional approach. Bah humbug!

5 "Thrifty" Fall/Winter Fashion Trends

It's finally beginning to feel like fall, the leaves are yellow, orange and red. Pumpkins are resting on door steps and Halloween will soon be a memory. Before we know it, fall will be over and it will be time to bundle up by the fireplace.
