Lack of arts in chester

It seems as though the moment you hear of a new arts project or building being created in Chester, it is counteracted by the closure of another creative endeavour, due to lack of funding. Many residents of Chester were disappointed to hear of their beloved cinema and bowling alley complex ceasing to exist.

Knowsley Safari Park to highlight threat of extinction to vultures

by Paige Edge Knowsley Safari Park launches new Bird of Prey experience in a bid to save vultures from extinction. The Park is to open a new 'Vulture Breakfast' to allow visitors the opportunity to see how vultures behave in the wild with a carcass feed and raise awareness on the dangers these birds currently face in the wild.

Warthogs born for the first time at Chester Zoo (GALLERY)

by Paige Edge Two baby Warthogs are the first ever to be born at Chester Zoo. The unnamed piglets are the first of their kind to be born at the zoo and staff have said that they are "absolutely thrilled" at the new arrivals, who can be seen in the zoo's Tsavo exhibit, near its Diamond Jubilee Quarter.

MP backs 'Letter to the Future' campaign urging polticians not to put economy before the environment

AN MP has signed a "Letter to the Future" urging politicians to consider the environmental impact of their decisions. Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Andrew Miller joined the new campaign which asks politicians to consider the UK's natural as well as financial future when making policy to tackle economic problems. The campaign, launched by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, is looking to gain hundreds of thousands of signatures on its "Letter to the Future" before the election.

PART of China Farm Lane in Newton remains closed for a second day following a building fire. Fire crews were called to China Plate Farm in China Farm Lane on Sunday night, following reports that a barn full of silage was on fire.
