Paloma Sanchez-McGee

Student Journalist

United States

Hello! I'm Paloma Sanchez-McGee, a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln doubling majoring in Journalism and Advertising & Public Relations with a minor in Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Deisgn. I'm on track to graduate in 2026.

I work at the Daily Nebraskan as a culture reporter and photographer covering stories including Omaha Fashion Week in 2023 and 2024. This summer I will be interning at the Lincoln Journal Star as News Intern.

I have a passion for storytelling and long-form journalism that allows people to share their narratives and helps us understand that we're all connected, not strangers. Through multimedia journalism—combining photography, audio, and print—I strive to convey stories that bridge divides and create understanding. This foundation in storytelling led me to discover my enthusiasm for public relations during college, where I learned to help brands authentically expand their reach and shape their image. I aim to work for an organization that not only cultivates a positive workplace culture but also maintains a steadfast commitment to helping others, allowing me to combine my storytelling abilities with meaningful brand development.

Outside work, I enjoy watching movies with my friends and family, baking and learning about natural medicine practices like herbalism and meditation.
